Digital Badging With Scaled Agile

SAFe-certified professionals are globally recognized for their skills to successfully transform large enterprises using SAFe. Share your skills with a digital version of your SAFe certification.

What is Scaled Agile Digital Badging?

The Scaled Agile Professional Certification Program provides world-class credentials that showcase your skills and experience as a SAFe-certified professional. We know that sharing your credentials in an ever-expanding digital marketplace can be challenging. We have paired with Acclaim, part of Pearson VUE, to provide you with a digital version of your SAFe credentials which includes metadata that describes your qualifications as a SAFe  professional. This digital credential can be shared in your e-mail signature, digital resume, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.

The Acclaim digital badging platform provides:

  • A trusted method for real-time credential verification
  • A digitally sharable and verifiable version of your SAFe credential
  • Online labor market insights that connect your skills to jobs

How it works:

  1. When you earn a Scaled Agile credential, you will also receive an e-mail from Acclaim inviting you to claim your digital badge
  2. Click the link in the e-mail
  3. Create an account on the Acclaim site (youracclaim.com)
  4. Claim your badge
  5. Share your badge on your favorite social site or via e-mail

We hope you will take advantage of this new opportunity to showcase and promote your SAFe skills through our new badging program. If you do not receive an e-mail from Acclaim within one week after becoming certified, let us know at support@scaledagile.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to your most frequently asked questions in our recent Digital Badging webinar.

What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is a web-enabled version of your earned SAFe Certification credential which can be verified online in real-time. Your personal badge URL can be posted to or shared on various social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The digital image containing metadata links back to your Acclaim profile and describes your qualifications, skills, and the requirements to earn the credential.

How are digital badges related to SAFe certifications?

Badges are tied to Scaled Agile certification achievement. Once you earn a SAFe 4 certification you will receive two e-mails: one from the Scaled Agile congratulating you on your achievement, and another e-mail from Acclaim shortly after issuing you your related badge. If you do not receive the second e-mail from Acclaim, check your spam folder for an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com or simply log into Acclaim to accept your badge. If you do not see the badge awarded in Acclaim or an e-mail in your spam folder, please contact support@scaledagile.com.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Acclaim, a badging platform backed by Pearson, to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge. The technology Acclaim uses is based on the Open Badge Standards defined by Mozilla. This enables you to manage, share, and verify your skills and knowledge digitally.

When do I get my SAFe 4 Certification digital badge?

Badges will be rolled out incrementally starting in May, 2017 with select SAFe 4 badges. All remaining badges will be issued by July, 2017. Only SAFe 4 certifications will be issued a corresponding digital badge. Prior versions of SAFe Certifications (SAFe 3, SAFe 2) will not be issued a digital badge but certifications will remain valid if in good standing.

Do I have to get a digital badge?

No. Digital badging is a new benefit Scaled Agile is offering as part of the SAFe® Professional Certification Program. Once you pass a SAFe exam, you have the option to participate in Scaled Agile’s digital badging program but it is completely optional.

What are the benefits of a digital badge?

Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of. Acclaim also offers labor market insights, based on your skills. You can search and apply for job opportunities right through the Acclaim platform.

Who is Acclaim?

Acclaim is a product of Pearson, the world’s leading learning company. Acclaim works with credible organizations (schools, healthcare providers, high-tech companies, global fortune 500’s, etc.) to provide digital credentials to individuals worldwide.

I received an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com. Is this Acclaim e-mail monitored?

Badge notifications (“You’ve been issued a badge”) are sent from Acclaim using this alias. It goes to an un-monitored e-mail box. If you have questions about your Acclaim badge, please visit http://support.youracclaim.com.

How will I know if I have earned a badge?

You will receive an e-mail notification from no-reply@youracclaim with instructions for claiming your badge along with information about setting up your account for managing and sharing your certification.

What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in Acclaim. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee for using Acclaim?

No. Digital badging is included in the benefits of your subscription to the SAFe community platform. As long as you remain a member your badge will not expire. In addition, you have access to professional development, communities of practice, and other SAFe learning materials.

I should have been issued a badge but did not received a notification e-mail. How can I get my badge?

First step is to check your e-mail spam folder for an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com. If it is in the spam folder, you can still access the link to your badge. Be sure to add no-reply@youracclaim.com to your e-mail’s safe sender list. Additional information about Accepting an Achievement can be found in Acclaim’s knowledge base.

If you do not find anything in your spam folder, then please contact support@scaledagile.com.

Who should I contact if there are issues with my badge?

Contact http://support.youracclaim.com/ when:

  • You need help navigating the Acclaim platform
  • You have issues accessing your Acclaim account
  • Your badges are not displaying or sharing correctly

Contact support@scaledagile.com when:

  • You earned a SAFe® 4 Certification but did not receive a badge notification
  • You rejected (deleted) a badge in Acclaim and want it back

If your badge has expired it means your Scaled Agile Membership has expired. Log into the Community Platform to renew your membership. Your badge date will also be updated.

Will all Scaled Agile certifications have a digital badge associated with them?

No. Only SAFe 4.0 credentials will have a digital badge.

Will I still have access to my existing certification logos?

Yes. The Scaled Agile Professional Certification Program still provides logos for all existing certifications through your Scaled Agile Community platform profile.

Why does my badge show it is “Expired?

Your badge is tied to your Scaled Agile Membership. If your badge has expired it means your membership has expired. Log into the Community Platform to renew your membership. Your badge will be automatically updated (reissued) to reflect your current membership status.

How long is my badge good for?

Your digital badge is tied to your Scaled Agile Community Member Subscription. As long as your membership subscription is current, your badge will remain current.

If your membership expires or you choose not to renew, your badge will still be available but an “Expired” message will appear on your badge page.

Will my badge ever be revoked?

Scaled Agile reserves the right to revoke badges only in extreme cases such as (but not limited to) exam cheating or breach of permission to use and reproduce its protected material.

I received a “Your Badge Has Been Replaced” e-mail. What does this mean?

Anytime your badge status is updated, Acclaim will send you a notification e-mail which includes why your badge has been replaced.

The most common reason is that the badge expiration date will be updated when your Scaled Agile Community Member Subscription is renewed.

How can I prevent someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Acclaim platform. This link to verified data (and your personal Acclaim profile) makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

I rejected a badge issued to me in the Acclaim system and now I want it back. What do I do?

Once you reject a badge it is permanently deleted from your Acclaim profile (but your Scaled Agile Certification remains in its current status). Contact support@scaledagile.com to see if it can be reissued. We strongly advise you do NOT reject a badge. Simply let it reside as part of your Acclaim profile but do not issue or share it. If a badge was issued to you by mistake, please contact support@scaledagile.com immediately.

Where and how can I share my badge through Acclaim?

You can share your badge directly from the Acclaim platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, over e-mail, embedded in a website, or in your e-mail signature.

What are labor market insights and how can I see them in Acclaim?

Labor market insights are pulled from job requisitions across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and India. Based on your skills, learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. You can search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Acclaim. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.

Note this labor data is for general purposes only.

Can my Acclaim profile include badges that have been issued to me from other platforms/companies?

Acclaim does not support uploading of badges issued by other platforms/companies. However if you have earned other badges through the Acclaim platform, those badges should be visible as part of your profile.

Can I export badges issued from Acclaim to other badge storing platforms/companies?

Yes. In Acclaim use the Download option from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) metadata embedded into the image which allows your badge to be stored on other OBI-compliant badge sites e.g. Mozilla backpack.  Updates to this article can be found in Acclaim’s knowledgebase.

Can I import badges issued from other platforms into Acclaim?

Not at this time.

How do I share my badge?
