Certified SAFe® Scrum Master

A Certified SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) is a team-based servant leader who helps teams self-organize, self-manage, and deliver value via effective Agile practices. The Scrum Master supports and coaches the Scrum process and other processes that the team has agreed upon. The Scrum Master also helps the team coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) and communicates status to management as needed.

Certified SAFe® Product Owner / Product Manager

Delivering value through effective Program Increment execution

A Certified SAFe® Product Owner (PO) serves as the customer proxy for the team and works with Product Management and other stakeholders—including other Product Owners—to define and prioritize stories in the Team Backlog so that the system or solution effectively addresses program priorities while maintaining the technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for creating. The PO has a significant role in quality and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done.

A Certified SAFe® Product Manager (PM) serves as the internal voice of the customer for the Agile Release Train (ART) and works with Product Owners to continually develop and communicate the customer vision to the development teams. The Product Manager provides an economically prioritized backlog for the ART, defines the features of the system to ensure that the solution meets relevant standards and other system quality requirements, and participates in the validation of the proposed feature benefit hypotheses.

Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer

A Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) facilitates Agile Release Train processes and value execution. The RTE escalates impediments, manages risk, helps assure value delivery, and drives continuous improvement. An RTE participates in the Lean-Agile transformation by coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. The RTE helps adapt SAFe to the organization, including standardizing and documenting practices.

A Certified SAFe® Agilist (SA) strategically guides the adoption, success, and ongoing improvement of Lean-Agile culture in an enterprise. A Certified SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC) is a Lean-Agile change agent who works with Lean-Agile leadership to set the SAFe vision for the organization, show others the way, and remove impediments to change. An SPC brings organizational credibility to SAFe implementation; has the expertise to make fast, intelligent decisions; and helps implement specific process changes in the enterprise. Often, an SPC trains others in Lean-Agile ways of thinking and operating, applying a new style of leadership that truly teaches, empowers, and engages individuals and teams to reach their highest potential.

Certified SAFe® DevOps Practitioners (SDP) help to optimize flow of value through the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. An SDP maps value streams through the pipeline from idea to cash, and identifies practices that eliminate bottlenecks to flow. They continuously work to improve processes for exploring customer needs, developing, building, deploying, and delivering value. By helping to align people, processes, and technology throughout the organization, the SDP is a key player in establishing a culture of shared responsibility for the full spectrum of solution delivery.
