Note as of March 2021, Credly by Acclaim has been rebranded as Credly. It is the same digital badge platform since the 2017 launch.

What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is a web-enabled version of your earned SAFe® Certification which can be verified online in real-time. Your personal badge URL can be posted to or shared on various social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The digital image containing metadata links back to your Credly profile and describes your qualifications, skills, and the requirements to earn the certification. You will only receive your Digital Badge if you have opted in via the Privacy Preference settings within the SAFe Community Platform.

How are digital badges related to SAFe certifications?

Badges are tied to Scaled Agile certifications starting with SAFe® 4 and later. Once you opt in to receive a digital badge and earn a SAFe certification, you will receive two e-mails: one from Scaled Agile confirming your achievement, and another from Credly shortly after issuing your related badge. If you do not receive the second e-mail from Credly, check your spam folder for an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com* or simply log into Credly to accept your badge. If you do not see the badge awarded in Credly or an e-mail in your spam folder, please contact support@scaledagile.com.
*As of March 2021, please check your spam folder for an e-mail from support@credly.com.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Credly* to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards defined by Mozilla. This enables you to manage, share, and verify your skills and knowledge digitally. *Note as of March 2021, Credly by Acclaim has been rebranded as Credly. It is the same digital badge platform.

Do I have to get a digital badge?

No. Digital badging is a new benefit Scaled Agile is offering as part of the SAFe® Professional Certification Program. Once you pass a SAFe exam, you have the option to participate in Scaled Agile’s digital badging program but it is completely optional.

What are the benefits of a digital badge?

Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your certification and what you’re now capable of. Credly also offers labor market insights, based on your skills. You can search and apply for job opportunities right through the Credly platform.

Who is Credly?

Credly works with credible organizations (schools, healthcare providers, high-tech companies, global fortune 500’s, etc.) to provide digital credentials to individuals worldwide.

I received an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com*. Is this Credly e-mail monitored?

Badge notifications (“You’ve been issued a badge”) are sent from Credly using this alias. It goes to an un-monitored e-mail box. If you have questions about your Credly badge, please visit http://support.credly.com.
*After March 2021, you will receive an e-mail from support@credly.com.

How will I know if I have earned a badge?

You will receive an e-mail notification from support@credly.com with instructions for claiming your badge along with information about setting up your account for managing and sharing your certification.

What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee for using Credly?

No. Digital badging is included in the benefits of your subscription to the SAFe community platform. As long as you remain a member your badge will not expire. In addition, you have access to professional development, communities of practice, and other SAFe learning materials.

I should have been issued a badge but did not received a notification e-mail. How can I get my badge?

First step is to check your e-mail spam folder for an e-mail from admin@youracclaim.com*. If it is in the spam folder, you can still access the link to your badge. Be sure to add no-reply@youracclaim.com** to your e-mail’s safe sender list. Additional information about Accepting an Achievement can be found in Credly’s knowledge base.
*After March 2021, you will receive an e-mail from support@credly.com.
** After March 2021, add support@credly.com to your e-mail’s safe sender list.

If you do not find anything in your spam folder, then please contact support@scaledagile.com.

Who should I contact if there are issues with my badge?

Contact http://support.credly.com/ when:

  • You need help navigating the Credly platform
  • You have issues accessing your Credly account
  • Your badges are not displaying or sharing correctly

Contact support@scaledagile.com when:

  • You earned a SAFe 4 or later Certification but did not receive a badge notification
  • You rejected (deleted) a badge in Credly and want it back

If your badge has expired it means your Scaled Agile Membership has expired. Log into the Community Platform to renew your membership. Your badge date will also be updated.

Will all Scaled Agile certifications have a digital badge associated with them?

No. Only SAFe 4 or later certifications will receive a digital bade. Those certified on SAFe 3.0 or earlier will need to re-certify on SAFe 4 or later in order to receive a digital badge.

Will I still have access to my existing certification logos?

Yes. The Scaled Agile Professional Certification Program still provides logos for all existing certifications through your Scaled Agile Community platform profile.

Why does my badge show it is "Expired"?

Your badge is tied to your Scaled Agile Membership. If your badge has expired it means your membership has expired. Log into the Community Platform to renew your membership. Your badge will be automatically updated (reissued) to reflect your current membership status.

How long is my badge good for?

Your digital badge is tied to your Scaled Agile Community Member Subscription. As long as your membership subscription is current, your badge will remain current.

If your membership expires or you choose not to renew, your badge will still be available but an “Expired” message will appear on your badge page.

Will my badge ever be revoked?

Scaled Agile reserves the right to revoke badges only in extreme cases such as (but not limited to) exam cheating or breach of permission to use and reproduce its protected material.

I received a "Your Badge Has Been Replaced" e-mail. What does this mean?

Anytime your badge status is updated, Credly will send you a notification e-mail which includes why your badge has been replaced.

The most common reason is that the badge expiration date will be updated when your Scaled Agile Community Member Subscription is renewed.

How can I prevent someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Credly platform. This link to verified data (and your personal Credly profile) makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your certification and your associated identity.

I rejected a badge issued to me in the Credly system and now I want it back. What do I do?

Once you reject a badge it is permanently deleted from your Credly profile (but your Scaled Agile Certification remains in its current status). Contact support@scaledagile.com to see if it can be reissued. We strongly advise you do NOT reject a badge. Simply let it reside as part of your Credly profile but do not issue or share it. If a badge was issued to you by mistake, please contact support@scaledagile.com immediately.

What are labor market insights and how can I see them in Credly ?

Labor market insights are pulled from job requisitions across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, Australia, and other locations. Based on your skills, learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. You can search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.

Note this labor data is for general purposes only.

Can my Credly profile include badges that have been issued to me from other platforms/companies?

Credly does not support uploading of badges issued by other platforms/companies. However if you have earned other badges through the Credly platform, those badges should be visible as part of your profile.

Can I export badges issued from Credly to other badge storing platforms/companies?

Yes. In Credly use the Download option from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) metadata embedded into the image which allows your badge to be stored on other OBI-compliant badge sites e.g. Mozilla backpack.  Updates to this article can be found in Credly’s knowledgebase.

Can I import badges issued from other platforms into Credly?

Not at this time.

Where and how can I share my badge through Credly?

You can share your badge directly from the Credly platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, over e-mail, embedded in a website, or in your e-mail signature. Review this Credly FAQ for additional information.
