What are the professional development unit requirements for my certification?

To keep SAFe® certification in good standing, certification holders need to complete a predetermined number of continuing education hours (professional development units [PDUs]) each year prior to renewing the certification. Examples of PDUs include attending a course, going to a conference, attending industry meetings (ex., Meetups), reading books, and reading articles.

Note that individuals are required to track their PDUs on their own, as there is no formal system for reporting these PDUs. Please see the following PDU requirements:

How to update certification to the 4.5 version of SAFe?

There are no certification upgrades or exams associated with SAFe 4.5. However, Scaled Agile strongly encourages SAFe certified professionals to update their knowledge by logging in to the SAFe Community Platform and accessing the “What’s New in SAFe 4.5” professional development video from the VIDEOS tab.

It is highly recommended that SPCs and SPCTs who are certified on SAFe 4.0 who teach SAFe courses also complete the updated Course Delivery Enablement for each course they plan to teach.
